Shanghai The Bund View Guesthouse

The room was spacious, the staff friendly, and the view was great. It's baby friendly too, and we got a crib at no extra charge, while most other hotels ask for a fee. The location is good, but I'd warn light sleepers. The air conditioning is old and really loud, and we couldn't switch it off because the room got hot even with 15C weather outside. At times there was a clear sound of water running, which I assume came from a nearby room's toilet. At night we often heard loud engines, probably sports cars and motorbikes going along the river. I'm a light sleeper, and I might have had sleepless nights here.

The views outside are lovely, and some rooms look out over the lake, the Shanghai River and the business district. The location is great, near the North Bund and Garden Bridge. My room was small but fine. Some rooms need upkeep, though, and the chairs and tables are old. Breakfast is standard, but the room needs renovation. Staff have some trouble with English, so a Chinese-English translation app helps.

The rooms are really spacious and the price feels fair. The view across from The Bund is AMAZING. Staff were genuinely kind and polite, but I was really disappointed by the breakfast, which was entirely Chinese.

Breakfast is served on the 15th floor, with views of Pudong and the Bund, though the food is very oily and mostly Chinese. The neighborhood near the North Bund and Garden bridge is quiet and uncrowded. My room was okay and had a nice panoramic view.
