The subway can make the hotel seem far away, but taking a taxi through the express tunnel from The Bund worked well. Service was great, the Executive Lounge has been renovated, and breakfast had a good spread. My renovated room already showed some wear, including a stained mattress base and showerheads that leaned. The pool looked nice, but it was closed while we were there.

The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious and very clean. Getting to the center for sightseeing or shopping took a while, though, and the metro was about a 10-minute walk away. Receptionists were nice, but some spoke too little English for easy communication. On a higher floor, the internet was really unreliable, especially in the evenings. I couldn't even check Instagram, and neither the Wi-Fi nor roaming worked well.

The river views are spectacular, and the rooms feel palatial. There's a good restaurant on site, and the subway is only a 5-8 minute walk away.

Breakfast is decent, though it often gets crowded because the hotel draws a lot of diners. The meals taste more international than what I've had in many other Chinese cities. The rooms are clean and nicely laid out, and the reception area is especially spacious. A very nice hotel.

It takes 20-30 minutes by car to reach The Bund. The hotel looks old, and the rooms feel worn out.
