The Sukhothai Shanghai

The only thing that bothered us was the loud music from the elevators. Our room was near them, and we could hear it in the bedroom. Apart from that, the staff were exceptional and the entrance team’s diligence made us feel safe. We booked a standard room and found it clean, comfortable, and spacious. Room service was good, and the location in Jing’an made it easy to walk to nearby shops, cafes, and restaurants. This was a fabulous hotel that lived up to its five star rating, and we’d stay again on a return trip to Shanghai.

The bed was very comfortable, the hotel was spotless, and the restaurants and breakfast selection were good. Stylish design, excellent service, and a great location made this a true five star stay. I’d highly recommend it and will definitely return. You can likely find very attractive rates through the hotel’s own booking system.

The restaurant staff remembered our usual breakfast by about the fifth morning and had it ready when we arrived, including made-to-order xiao long bao. We were there for nine nights, so they had time to get to know us, but that was a super effort and made the whole hotel experience enjoyable for my family. The hotel is right above a mall with several subway lines, and the breakfast was excellent.

We had loads of room for our luggage in the huge, very clean room. I liked the classy, minimal design and the layout. The minibar and housekeeping team did a very good job, replenishing everything in the room each day, and the front desk staff were helpful. The hotel connects to a luxury mall and is close to Starbucks, the street vendors on Wujiang Rd, and the shopping area on Nanjing Rd. I stayed five nights with a friend and would definitely recommend it. I’ll be back if I visit Shanghai again.
