Waiting Hotel (Luoshan Road , Pudong New Area, Shanghai)

The hotel has two buildings, but staff weren't very helpful when we needed to know ours was next to reception. It wasn't clear whether it was operating as RHEA or MANJU. The rooms were clean and fairly modern, though the lighting was poor and the windows looked onto the car park and freeway. The layouts felt odd, and the rooms were average. Water and other products were overpriced.

There isn't a money-changing service, and breakfast is the only meal served in the dining area, though they can arrange meals in your room. The hotel is in a very secluded spot, with nothing going on nearby. They can arrange a taxi, but can't guarantee one, and when we needed transport in an emergency there was no ride even to the nearest metro, over 2.5 km away. One day we had to walk there in the rain. I stayed for a week at the beginning of November this year. The rooms were good and the staff quite friendly, but unless you're sure you can get transport and want to be away from crowds and the city centre, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Unbelievable. The bedsheets were used and dirty, and you could hear people talking next door. There was always a cigarette smell. The lighting buttons were confusing, and I couldn't get the right dim light for sleeping. The sign saying first floor actually meant the third floor.

The rooms were just average. The service was basically nonexistent, and they treated us like a bother instead of paying guests.
