The panoramic deluxe room was nicely designed and built, with spectacular views over the West Bund that show a different side of Shanghai. Sunday brunch runs until 2:00 pm and uses fresh, very good-quality ingredients. The gym and 25-m-long pool are tempting too. This is a new property in the developing Shanghai Qiantan district. It feels like a peaceful luxury island, though it's still a bit isolated for now. The new Tai Koo Li shopping area is about a 30-minute walk away. Staff aren't yet at the level of the Waldorf Astoria on the Bund, but they're working hard and I think they'll get there. There isn't an ATM at the hotel, and getting a taxi can take longer than usual. Otherwise, it was a very good, relaxing stay, and I'll definitely return.

The rooms are very nice and new. This accommodation opened in 10-2025, and parking is complimentary. It has a nautical feel, though the ground level is a little confusing. It's hard to find, with an entrance that's confusing too. There aren't restaurants or activities conveniently nearby. Food is expensive, so make sure brunch is included in your room. The à la carte items at brunch are very good, while the self-selected items are just average. Customer service is good, but the staff seem stiff and not very friendly, so I took off one star. English is spoken. With some traffic, Pudong International airport is over 45 minutes away, so plan ahead.

The surroundings and exterior look beautiful, and the facilities are complete and comfortable. There are also plenty of service staff. But it seems Chinese state-owned assets are involved in management, and the staff's manner gives off a communist spirit.
