Weizun hotel

The room was clean and good, and the housekeeper was kind. But this stay was stressful as a foreign traveler without local language skills or apps. The area also felt inconvenient for visitors. The nearest shop was about a 15 minute walk through a dark parking area, and the view was just the parking lot and garbage. The WiFi in my room didn't work. Reception suggested using another room's WiFi with the same password, but that didn't work either. I got an eSIM through trip.com, which was a better choice. The arrival transfer left without me even though I'd sent my flight details in advance. I reached the pickup about 25 minutes after landing and waited another 20 minutes for the next transfer. Once it came, we sat for around 15 more minutes. The driver spoke only with the Chinese passengers and didn't respond when I asked what information he needed or where we were going. At the first hotel stop, he told me to get out. I checked the map first and saw it wasn't my hotel. At check-in, the receptionist spoke loudly in Chinese to someone else and didn't explain anything to me. She didn't speak English, and neither did any other staff member. When I asked about late checkout through a translator, she just showed me a WeChat QR code. I wasn't sure how useful that was for non-Chinese guests. I was handed a key card without an explanation. My room was written as 230, though rooms in the building had four digits. No one told me the floor, and I found room 8230 by luck. When I asked how to reach the closest bus stop or subway station the next day, the only answer was “taxi.” Foreign travelers can use DiDi, the local China app rather than the worldwide version, and pay by card. Cash isn't accepted; although I did have one cash-accepted fare, I still had to prepay the ride to use it. I eventually learned through Trip, where I booked, that membership gave me free late checkout until 14:00. But there was no airport transfer then, or at 12:00. Transfers only ran in the morning, from 6am to 10am, which made checkout very inconvenient for travelers. This hotel might work for local guests staying one night, but it was a difficult and inconvenient experience for me as a foreign tourist.
