Yangjianhua Hotel

Service could use quite a bit of improvement.

The breakfast is still pretty basic, with eggs, porridge, toast, fried rice and soy milk, though the service there is excellent. I come back every two years, and the value for the price seems acceptable to me. I heard the hotel is owned by Jiang Zemin's nephew. During the pandemic it had a major renovation, going from an old-fashioned look to something modern and cozy. I was impressed when I first checked in, since I hadn't expected such a change in an older hotel. But after two days, some of the old building's problems showed up: cockroaches appeared on the floor now and then, and there were old water marks on the ceiling. I can't tell if it will leak again. Some lights also had faulty connections and would switch off on their own.

Hotels close to the subway are my preference.
