The paths can be hard to read sometimes. You can spot a trail but not know where it goes, so it helps to ask someone. Even traveling with a group of people who don’t hike, we stayed happy and entertained the whole time, though be ready to spend the day on your feet. We saw hardly any visibly foreign visitors, just one other couple besides us. At one entrance there’s a beautiful Hilton that’s quite affordable by Western standards, and it makes a good base. You can buy bottled water, ponchos, and other things on the mountain, at prices that seemed fair compared with other, busier parks in China. I almost didn’t post this because I liked the park so much. Well, now I’ve given it away. It’s a great place.
