The rooms are huge, and I loved the rustic local farmhouse look. The hotel is far from things, but you know that when you book it, and it makes for a wonderful, different kind of escape. There were a couple of frustrating snags. The big tub's plunger didn't work, so even with the water running, it wouldn't fill and I couldn't really enjoy a bath. The tea tray leaked too, and we only realized after water had spilled everywhere. We had to put a towel underneath while dispensing the water. Aside from those issues, it's a great hotel. The staff member who served our tea was welcoming and knew a lot.

We arrived as a family at the Shangri-La Banyan Tree Resort on June 19 and were greeted warmly by our butler, Zhuoma, who was especially kind. The rest of the staff were patient and attentive as well, and the service was excellent. There’s a strong Tibetan cultural atmosphere throughout, with beautiful scenery and plenty of lovely photo spots. Definitely an experience worth having.

The setting is peaceful, with a gorgeous panorama, and the resort is still close to the old town. Kendrick made our stay especially memorable: he arranged an upgrade, walked us through the services, and even surprised us for a special occasion. His attention to everything made us want to come back soon. Thanks for taking such good care of us, Kendrick. See you again at Ringha! The villas at Banyan Tree Ringha are beautiful, comfortable, and furnished with everything we needed. They have a distinctive, authentic antique Tibetan style.

The traditional Tibetan farmhouse was spacious and full of character, with handcrafted furnishings and lovely mountain views. Our local quilted robe was a real blessing on chilly evenings. The resort, in the Shangri-La highlands, brings together Tibetan charm and Banyan Tree luxury in a striking setting. The food and beverage team looked after me so well. Donma and the other staff, including the young local woman whose name I unfortunately can't remember, were attentive and friendly, always smiling and happy to share local tips. Breakfast was hearty, with both Tibetan and international choices. Try the butter tea, and have it plain, salted, or sweetened. Don't hesitate to ask for a refill. For me, a stay at Banyan Tree Ringha felt like a cultural experience in a beautiful, authentic place. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, romantic stay with a little mountain adventure in Yunnan.

The restaurant and spa were both very good, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. The hotel itself is beautiful, with amazing Tibetan Farmhouses. We highly recommend it.
