Floral Hotel· Zhuganghui Hotel (Shantou Guoxia Exhibition Center)

Breakfast was a good mix of local Chaozhou dishes and international choices, served in a bright, relaxing dining area. As a solo leisure traveler, I also found the Shantou Marriott convenient for reaching transit and major attractions. The room was spotless and roomy, with plenty of places to charge devices and a luxurious bed that made it easy to sleep well. Service stayed prompt and courteous throughout, from housekeeping to the front desk, and people were ready to help with a smile. The gym and quiet pool were nice places to exercise or unwind. I left with a strong impression of the comfort and attentive service, and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality and hospitality in one place.

Ms. Li, who manages the club lounge, was especially kind and helpful. She upgraded our room to a lovely suite with a beautiful ocean view. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable, a welcome place to relax after a long day. We were greeted warmly when we arrived at the Marriott Hotel in Shantou, then escorted to the club lounge to check in. That made the arrival easy and relaxing, and the service throughout the stay was excellent.

The building is new and the decor looks fine, but it mostly gives a fake impression. The interior just doesn't feel like a five-star hotel. The hardware is good, the software feels like the 1990s. I've stayed at plenty of Marriotts, and the staff here were the worst. Rude, unfriendly, poorly trained and unprofessional. Breakfast staff shouted at guests; there was no welcome, good morning, or even a simple thank you. They didn't even look at you, and the uniforms were falling off. The mall beside the hotel still hadn't opened after two years. There's a small convenience store nearby. For location, the Sheraton hotel downtown is much better.

Communication with the staff was good even before I arrived, and I stayed for four nights. Thanks to Victoria, Astray and Stella Huang for making the visit exceptional. They recognize Titanium BonVoy membership. I can recommend this hotel.
