Sheraton Shantou Hotel

The room was clean and comfortable, within walking distance of major malls and popular restaurants. The staff were exceptionally hospitable and friendly, and Tanya Wu and Harry Shen really made the experience for me. When I arrived at Sheraton Shantou, Tanya Wu welcomed me and handled check-in efficiently. She upgraded me to the Sheraton Club level, answered my questions about local attractions and dining options, and helped update my Marriott Bonvoy membership details. I also asked Concierge Harry Shen about buying a travel lock. He was patient and helpful, searching online for options and saying he'd have one ready the next morning. I appreciated his dedication to guest satisfaction. I highly recommend Sheraton Shantou and look forward to returning.

The building feels a little dated, though it's well maintained, as are the rooms. The main drawbacks are dim lighting and average but acceptable breakfast. The coffee wasn't very tasty.

I've stayed here twice a year since 2013 and the experience has been very consistent. The staff are attentive, the rooms comfortable, and the buffet, restaurant, and room service food choices are above average for the price. A solid hotel in a city area that's blooming.

Breakfast was included, but the choices were so-so. The steamed food looked too moist and overdone, and the local fried dish didn't look good either. The room was big and clean, though a bit dated, with all the amenities prepared. The room could use brighter lighting, and the front desk was a bit slow at check-in and check-out. Still, the stay was good.
