Shaoxing Xianheng Grand Hotel

We were pleasantly surprised by our two-night stay at this older Xianheng, since apparently there are two of them. The location worked well, with a mall across the street and plenty of shops close by. We paid about $80 a night including tax, fees, and the breakfast buffet. Breakfast had a good range, from fried noodles and rice, congee, omelettes, dim sum, steamed buns, vegetables, fruit, and pastries to my favorite, the soup noodle station. They also gave us two free bottles of water each day. Every night came with some RMB credit for dinner at the buffet restaurant. I can't remember the amount, and the food was pretty average, but we used the credit so it wouldn't go to waste. I wouldn't pay full price for it. The room key also had a discount coupon for the spa and foot bath. Turn-down service left the bed remade and some chocolate, which was nice, though a little creepy because we hadn't known to expect it. The rooms are old, though clean enough. Google Maps says Shaoxing East is the closest train station, but it's actually Shaoxing North: East is a 45-minute taxi ride, while North is 15 minutes. The restaurant credit wasn't explained to my boyfriend and me at check-in, probably because we didn't speak Mandarin. His parents told us about it, so ask the front desk. The elevator doors are rough and will close on you and your hard.

We chose the Xianheng Hotel on Jiefang South Road after an online search for our Shaoxing trip, July 9-11, 2025. There are several hotels in the city using the Xianheng name. On a rainy day, staff met us with umbrellas, and we felt welcome right away. The elegant, luxurious decor and spacious, clean, quiet room made a good impression. We had dinner at Xianheng Banquet Hall on the second floor, and the third-floor restaurant served a plentiful, varied, delicious breakfast. Our room key also came with a discount coupon for a spa and foot bath. Yintai Department Store and a food street are right across from the hotel. It's about 800 meters from Lu Xun's Former Residence, Chen Garden, and the subway station, so the location was convenient. Our first visit to Shaoxing left us very satisfied with a wonderful impression.
