The room was spacious, with a great view, and the service was excellent throughout. Jennifer, the breakfast manager, was especially welcoming and even packed croissants, fruit and drinks for us to take away. That extra care made the stay feel special. Breakfast had plenty of fresh choices, from Western food to delicious Chinese dishes. A fantastic visit, and I’d gladly recommend this hotel.

We loved the location, right by a mall and train stations, and the executive lounge was a relaxing place with plenty of drinks. Breakfast had lots of options and the service there was good. We stayed five nights. The manager met us in the lobby and escorted us to the upgraded suite provided as a Diamond benefit. The room lights weren’t working, but the manager arranged for a technician to fix them. A couple of things to know: you need your own swim cap to use the pools, and I didn’t get to try any of the hotel restaurants. The parking attendant at the entrance was a bad experience. We had infants and luggage to unload, but he hurried us along and didn’t offer help, even rushing our female driver. He needs some training.

The room was beautifully designed and comfortable, and the staff were patient, friendly and professional. It’s downtown, above a luxury mall, and I’d give the location 4.5 stars. Parking is free, though the validation code only lasts 30 minutes. Getting around the building got annoying. To reach my room, I always had to go up to the 88th floor and change elevators. Before heading out, I also had to visit the 88th-floor front desk every time to register and renew the parking code. In B2, there aren’t clear signs for parking near the hotel entrance, which isn’t very welcoming for new guests. Nearby downtown restaurants and shopping centers aren’t within walking distance either, so you’ll need a taxi or about a five-minute drive.

With Covid keeping us in China, staying at the Conrad Hotel felt like a way to get away from daily stress and feel a bit more at home. It’s pricey, but the standards are good, and the Western food may be the best you can find in Shenyang. The city looks stunning at night from the hotel. It’s in the north of the city, though, so getting there from the main areas takes quite a while.
