The non-smoking room had a strong cigarette smell that really affected our stay. And guests being allowed to smoke in the lobby restroom? That’s completely unacceptable. At a five-star hotel, basic cleanliness and air quality shouldn’t even be in question.

We were traveling with children, which made the heavy cigarette smell in the room especially upsetting. We had clearly asked for a non-smoking room, but the smell hit us as soon as we walked in. A non-smoking room should be exactly that. Having the request ignored raises serious concerns about room management and housekeeping, and this stay fell far below what we expected.

Happy Hour in the Executive Lounge was the best part of our stay, thanks to Jason. He was thoughtful and attentive, made excellent drinks, and suggested the soups, which were amazing. He even reminded my wife where to find the fruit. When we came back the next day, our drinks were ready before she arrived. Jason is a real asset to The Westin team, and his hospitality made the stay memorable enough to bring us back. Check-in went smoothly, the welcome was warm, and as a Platinum Elite member I was pleasantly surprised by a room upgrade. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and delicious. I booked The Westin Shenyang after reading the glowing online reviews, and the stay exceeded my expectations. Five out of five, without hesitation. I’d highly recommend it for the luxury, comfort, and especially the staff.
