Courtyard by Marriott Shenzhen Bay

The executive lounge food started at 5:30pm, mostly Chinese dishes with some salad, cheese and small cakes. It was good quality and enough that we skipped dinner. We also tried the free pickleball game, which we weren't very good at but enjoyed, and used the gym. There’s no pool or spa, so don’t expect every facility you might find at a Courtyard. The room was very clean and had a big, comfortable bed, a desk that doubled as a dining table, and a kettle with tea and coffee. Thick blackout curtains made it nice and dark for sleeping. The bathroom was spacious, with a good shower area and really soft towels. A very pleasant stay at the Courtyard Marriott, Shenzhen Bay.

There are plenty of small restaurants close by, and the location is really good. The service was good too, and the hotel has a couple of robots. It’s a good hotel, and I’d recommend it.

For getting to Hong Kong Airport, I like this location because the Shekou ferry is only about 20 minutes door to door. I was upgraded to a well-equipped suite and was glad to find a Nespresso machine in the room. Breakfast at the restaurant also seemed to have improved. I did notice that staff in the concierge lounge could be quicker about clearing plates. Still, it was another great stay at the Courtyard by Marriott.

The only problem I had was a shower door that somehow got stuck, though thankfully this happened close to checkout. The rooms are modern and comfortable, and the TV has plenty of English channels. It’s handy for the tech area, with lots of food options nearby. At least some staff spoke English, and when they couldn’t answer a question they could pass it on to someone who could. Even the cleaning ladies we saw in the hallway were friendly and pleasant.
