The breakfast was decent for the price range, and the hardware is pretty good. I think it could be touched up further, and if the check-in process improved, there might be room to charge more. I’ve removed my original comment because the management team showed enough attention to the original issue. Every staff member I encountered was genuinely helpful apart from the check-in part. I still think it’s fair to comment that, on a regular Friday night, my room faced straight onto the corridor. As someone who travels frequently in China, I understand it’s hard for a hotel to keep rooms completely free of secondhand smoke when guests are always smoking there. That isn’t entirely on the hotel. For arranging rooms, I’d suggest assigning them based on arrival time and providing the requested room if it’s available. Be honest and don’t let whoever speaks louder or looks shinier demand a room first. Having clear rules, like the Japanese hotel industry is known for, would help. First come, first served makes a good rule. In peak season, it’s better to avoid this place. You can get almost any top hotel in town for under 2k RMB, and the same goes for decent four-star, if not five-star, hotels in main cities around the world.

Breakfast from the 46th floor is such a treat, with an amazing view and an excellent buffet spread with lots of choice. We like the room too, but the beds are kind of small, so if three people share one room you’ll definitely need to add an extra bed. Love this hotel so much.

The location makes it easy to get around Shenzhen. The hotel is in Nanshan’s business district, right next to Shenzhen University station, and Hi-Tech Park is one metro stop away for MixC mall, luxury brands and great places to eat. There’s also a 711 near the entrance and a food court in the same building. The fitness center and swimming pool are amazing, with great city views. Next to the pool there’s a large jacuzzi, open from 0600-2300 hrs, which is ideal for relaxing after a long day. Breakfast has lots of delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices, including oriental food, bakery items, an egg station, cereal, juices, salad and fruit. IHG members and business visitors can use the lounge during happy hours for snacks and a limited dinner menu. Excellent hotel and service, highly recommended for a Shenzhen visit. Looking forward to my next stay.

The staff are friendly, which I appreciated, but the internet really needs attention. It connects, yet the speed is painfully slow. Hotel management really needs to fix this.
