The hotel was really nice and the location is great, so I'd stay again. Some people say the Wi-Fi is poor. Honestly, as a Westerner in China, internet tends to be a bad experience pretty much everywhere.

Unfortunately, this was probably one of the worst DoubleTree hotels I've stayed at. The service and staff training were poor, breakfast was disappointing, and even ordering poached eggs was a struggle. The hotel logistics were lacking, with no directory at all, and the corridor carpet is worth checking for cleanliness. A lot of things were below standard.

The shower only gave lukewarm water, and the Wi-Fi was inadequate. It reached just 20 Mbps, while GSM 5G got only 10 Mbps. I raised the issue, but it still wasn't fixed. As someone who travels internationally often, I expected more dependable service from a reputable hotel, and I was disappointed with my stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Shenzhen Bay.

Getting to places around Shenzhen is manageable because the subway is efficient, and Didi, China's UBER version, is very affordable. The hotel suits you if you want to stay around the bay, but the MTR is over a 10-minute walk away. Popular spots like “Window of the World” are some distance from here.
