The rooms were decent for the price, and the location worked well once we figured out the route. From exit C, turn right and then right again to reach the hotel's outside desk. For the metro, use that entrance too. The one beside the desk opens into a maze of shops and stalls. Check-in starts at the outside desk, then you take the receipt to the 20th floor to get your keycard. If anything goes wrong, like the card not working, you have to head back down, which is a hassle. English was limited among the staff we met, though one of the three spoke it well.

Dongmen Old Street subway station is right downstairs, with lots of nearby places for food, shopping, and entertainment. The room was renovated, clean, tidy, pleasant, and not too noisy. My friend's room faced the main road, but the soundproofing was good and the air conditioning worked well. It wasn't very large, but at around 200 RMB a night it was more than enough. Security felt good too, since you need a room key to enter the room area.
