Grand Skylight Hotel Shenzhen

The location is TOP NOTCH, and the price felt reasonable. My room was clean, the amenities were adequate, and the bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was a bit old.

The staff were very friendly, though only one young woman dressed in black spoke English. She was a ray of sunshine during an otherwise grey, rainy visit and went out of her way to help. I hope they appreciate how valuable she is. The hotel is right in Huaqiangbei, and it's very nice and clean. Rooms are big, and the beds are good.

We had a very good stay. My family wanted to connect a computer to the TV to watch movies, but there wasn't an obvious HDMI port. The maintenance man came up, took the TV apart, connected the wire, and put it back together in just a few minutes. It was a difficult job, and he handled it patiently and responsibly. Such a nice man and great service.

The central location is handy, close to tech shops and markets as well as the Line 1 underground train, which connects easily to the airport and other lines. The rooms were clean and nice, but fairly small, with views that weren't always good, and the windows weren't clean. The food was alright, nothing special. Despite its grand exterior, I didn't find the hotel particularly special. The public bathrooms on the first floor were pitiful. The only Western toilet in the men's bathroom was absolutely disgusting. WiFi only worked in the rooms and cut out as soon as you reached the corridor. You could only access other connections in the hotel if you were a Chinacom customer.
