The room was spacious and clean, and there’s a huge water park and playground. Thanks to Jamison at the front desk for the warm welcome and a smooth check-in. We had a pleasant stay.

There’s a subway right outside, and the hotel is close to key tourist attractions, though it isn’t in the city centre. Rooms are large and well equipped, and the service is great. Families will find several play areas, indoor and outdoor pools, and a man-made beach. There are also a number of dining options, with great food. A great choice for a Shenzhen trip.

The pool and water play area were really nice for the kids, but quite a few things need work. We tried to switch to a kids theme room when we arrived, but the carpets were covered in stains and so dirty that I couldn’t stand it, so we went back to a regular room. Service varied a lot, from very helpful staff to some who were extremely grumpy. The hotel is old, and there was construction next to the pool throughout our three-day stay. The children's train only ran for one day. The indoor soft play area is tiny and not worth paying for. Food at the Chinese restaurant was good, though the service there was poor too. At the breakfast and dinner buffets, staff kept trying to squeeze big rubbish trolleys between the tables, which was really off-putting.

The staff and service were top notch. The building, though, feels two generations old, from the lobby and rooms to the carpets and facilities. It needs a revamp.

They cancelled my reservation for no reason after I used reward certificates. The hotel said it couldn’t find my booking and told me I could book again with cash. The service and management are absolutely awful. Please stay away.
