The location is a real plus. There’s a private beach, and the city centre is about 45 minutes away by metro. The hotel feels a bit dated, but it’s still comfortable. It just doesn’t live up to what I’d expect from a 5-star property, as other reviews have said too. Our family had asked ahead for two rooms to be connecting or at least next to each other. At first, reception told us neither could be arranged, which was surprising for such a large hotel. After 15-20 minutes of back and forth, they suddenly managed to sort it out. That made the initial refusal all the more frustrating. The reception staff were generally unhelpful and handled the situation badly. The concierge and housekeeping teams, on the other hand, were excellent, friendly, attentive, and very helpful throughout our stay. We also had a $100 hotel voucher, but nobody clearly explained where or how to use it. We were told it worked at the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, then found out at the Cantonese restaurant that it wasn’t considered part of the hotel and the voucher wasn’t accepted there. We didn’t mind paying, but the confusion was inconvenient. Guests shouldn’t have to work these things out themselves. We weren’t given information about other facilities either, like the kids club. The location was great, but the front desk experience and poor communication affected our stay a lot.

I often bring clients here. It’s a great place on the east side of Shenzhen. The club building and its pool are much quieter. The main building and pool draw plenty of families, so they can get busy, especially on weekends.

Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh, high-quality choices for different tastes, from fruit and pastries to hearty hot dishes. The location is right in front of the beach, with gorgeous views, and my balcony was a lovely place to listen to the ocean. My room was spacious, beautifully designed, and spotless, with thoughtful details that made it comfortable. The facilities covered everything I wanted, whether that was a pool, a spa treatment, or time to relax with a book by the beach. What stood out most was the hospitality. From the moment I arrived, every staff member made me feel welcome and cared for. This was one of my most memorable stays, and one of the best I’ve had. I can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to come back.

We booked a package deal. The restaurants had a good variety of food, and it was good. Our room had a view and was spacious and clean.

The hotel has impressive architecture, a striking lobby, great views from the rooms, and plenty of space. It’s quiet, and there are lots of facilities for kids. But the rooms don’t feel like 5-star rooms. The shower is basic, the big bed is just okay, and the sofas aren’t very comfortable. For a hotel this large, the room feels a little small, and the toilet paper is cheap and extremely thin. The facilities also feel about 15 years out of date, even if they’re technically okay. Service was below par, possibly because of the language barrier. Check-in took 40 minutes, and staff weren’t especially polite when replying. The restaurant food was absolutely terrible: tasteless, with breakfast that tasted like paper, and it was very expensive. Eat outside. Some facilities also cost extra when I’d expect them to be included at a 5-star place where the premium is already built in. Wi-Fi was slow, probably 10-15 mbs, and worse at night. It’s not suitable for demanding work, and using a VPN cuts that speed by at least half.
