JI Hotel (Shenzhen Nanshan Wanke Yuncheng)

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone sensitive to cigarette smoke or dealing with asthma or other health issues. The air is hard to breathe, there's no purifier, and your hair and body end up smelling like smoke. The non-smoking rule doesn't seem to be enforced. Guests smoke openly in the lift lobby and lifts, and staff smoke in the toilets. There are stickers in the rooms about the policy, but the fine isn't enforced. Staff said they'd send people to monitor and check, yet I didn't see anyone receive a warning or penalty. It's unfair that everyone else has to suffer because people choose to smoke inside an air-conditioned building. I hope management starts enforcing the rule and warns guests that they'll be fined if caught smoking anywhere on the hotel grounds.

The map pin is in the wrong place, so use another Chinese map app to find the actual location. I couldn't find a way to edit the listing, and I had some trouble with a taxi driver over the location at midnight. The hotel was clean, close to my workplace, and has a good restaurant on the 3rd floor. It was enough for a business trip. There was often a sewage smell from the drain, though. Almost none of the staff seemed able to speak English, and the TV only had Chinese programs. English news and NHK would be useful.

A clean, efficient stay with self-service laundry, and it's close to my office. The map pin is slightly off, so don't count on it when taking a taxi. At midnight, the actual spot is a long walk with a suitcase. It's south of g4, on the corner of Baoshen rd and Keyuan rd. It'll be more convenient when line 13 opens. For now, if you're heading somewhere outside work, you'll need a didi. It was expected to open in Oct/24.

It's a quiet, peaceful spot, though a bit isolated. The property is new and very well built, with spacious rooms and all the facilities you need.
