Jingmingda Hotel

There are loads of shops, cafes, shopping centers, plus a McDonald's and KFC nearby. The park across the street is handy, and the hotel was decently frequented. Toiletries were changed regularly, and smoking wasn't allowed in the rooms. Staff were incredibly polite and attentive, though only the person at reception spoke English. The Wi-Fi was slow when we stayed in summer 2018, but it was enough for messaging and 480p videos. We couldn't find decent Wi-Fi anywhere in the city then. I recommend it, as long as you're not expecting a 5- or 7-star hotel.

Stepping out of the subway exit, we spotted the hotel right away, and the staff offered to take our luggage. The area was green and pleasant, with a big pirate ship that really stood out. Our room was clean, with high ceilings and a balcony, and the Spanish-style decor had a vivid red color scheme. The room was changed through a CD (cash advance). What sticks in my mind most is the enormous bathtub.

The view from the window is a bright spot, with Lianhuashan Park right across the way. The old restaurant, though, had smoke and dust smells that seemed stuck in its walls.

There are useful shops and other everyday facilities nearby. The subway station is close, and Lotus Hill Park is just across the road.
