Lavande Hotel Shenzhen North Station Qinghu Subway Station Branch

The friendly staff and great service were the best part of my stay. The room itself was a mess, though. Smoke still came through despite the purifier, which mostly just added its own smell, and the windows were shockingly grimy with dust, dirt, and cigarette butts. The carpet was filthy too. The bathroom was cramped, and its see-through door and curtain offered little privacy. The toilet clogged easily, with staff saying to use only one or two pieces of paper per flush. There was no bidet, and the shower kept switching between hot and cold. The air conditioning also clicked as it switched on and off, and the TV randomly went black. The USB ports wouldn't charge anything, and the lights were either all on or all off. They left just two waters and two tiny soap bottles, though you could ask for more. The room took a long time to cool down. Breakfast was mediocre: stale cereal, and the dough sticks tasted awful, like the oil had been reused too many times. The rest was ordinary frozen food, eggs, noodles, and frozen dim sum. Honestly, I'd find another hotel.
