Mission Hills Resort Shenzhen

The kids had a great time at MH mall, which is nearby and has lots of activities. At the hotel, there's a children's play area with a soft play ball pit, plus an indoor archery and soccer recreation area. We had a pleasant 5 night stay. Reception and gym staff speak enough English, and our room was clean and well presented. The beds are very firm. Both pool areas stay open until 10pm. The Chinese and Western restaurants were fine, though kids who aren't used to Chinese food have limited choices. Meituan delivery works fine here.

The Asian and Western restaurants are both extraordinary, and I'm giving the hotel an A+++ rating. I've stayed at Mission Hills Rezort Hotel twice now. My business connections are very near, so it's a great place to stay for work trips. It truly feels like a 5 star hotel, with all the amenities you'd expect: 2 pools, restaurants, and 12 professiinal level golf courses. Shuttle busses also go to local malls, nightlife, and restaurant locations. The property has hosted many pro athletes and celebrities over the years, with references to them posted throughout.

I played three different golf courses, and it was a bad experience, especially the service in the golf wings. There's no signage or direction board in the golf wing, and the layout feels like a maze, not golfer friendly. The course arrangements are very problematic for first timers. The course master had a very ill manner. Overall, a totally bad experience for overseas golfers.

We played one round at the World Cup golf course. The conditions were fair, but the layout felt flat and boring, and the greens were unusually slow. As a sports venue, the golf club doesn't live up to its marketing reputation, in my view. It felt overpriced and way overrated.
