The seafood at the Chinese restaurant was a standout, with live fresh options prepared in all sorts of dishes. Qinghu MRT station is VERY close, and being near the main road and metro makes getting around extremely convenient. That location also means traffic and noise if your room faces the road. The average room rate is reasonable, though in my opinion the rooms could use an upgrade. Breakfast is mostly Chinese food, so keep expectations managed. Wi-fi can be challenging during peak hours. There’s no Kara-oke singing or massage service at the hotel. Nearby you’ll also find small, simple and cheaper eateries, supermarkets, and shops for errands.

The room had a cigarette smell, and the decor felt dated. The price is reasonable, although it’s a little far from the city center. I’d bring my own toiletries. The tea bags in the room were just average.

The lobby’s ginger mountain decoration was interesting. The Chinese restaurant had a 35% discount off the whole lunch bill recently, which was a pretty good deal, but the Chaoshan food was only average and the hygiene was less than ideal.
