I loved the hotel’s beautiful style and even its smell, and it was clean. But service was a letdown. We waited 45 minutes for hot chips, and I nearly fell asleep before we had to cancel a meal. For a five-star, resort-style hotel, a translation app is essential for making requests. Breakfast was nice, but the other meals were below par, arriving cold after about 45 minutes. Restaurant staff weren’t attentive, there was no follow-up, and things didn’t feel efficient. Also, if you want to swim, note that the lovely pool requires a swimming cap. Other guests wear theirs and only rinse them in water between uses.

The hotel was fantastic, with very nice, spacious rooms and good service. Reception spoke some English, which was a real plus in China. Breakfast was the one weak spot. Ordering coffee from the waiters took ages, and on my last day I left before it ever arrived. Some self-service coffee machines would help.

My brother and I spent two nights here, and everything felt spot on. The staff were professional and helpful, the room was fabulous, and breakfast was a 10/10. The spa and indoor pool were a dream. It’s a super luxurious hotel right in the heart of Shenzhen.

I was here on a business trip as an invited guest, so I don’t know what the stay costs. But it felt every bit like a five-star hotel: tasteful, understated opulence, great toiletries, heated toilet seats, and an amazing view of Shenzhen from 40-plus stories up.
