The room we were first given was a dirty apartment that looked nothing like the photos. I had specifically chosen “Hotels” on Booking.com to avoid apartments and homestays, and booked without hesitation because the listing described a 3-star hotel with an airport shuttle. When I complained, the front desk told me to call the manager myself. I was traveling from abroad without a local number, so I had no idea how I was meant to do that. They only moved us to the actual hotel after I insisted. Would they have expected us to stay in the apartment if I hadn’t complained? The room change didn’t fix the problems. The sink drained very poorly, the shower head was dirty, and cleanliness and upkeep were well below what I’d expect from a 3-star hotel. The whole experience felt misleading, and I wouldn’t recommend this property.

There’s an airport shuttle, which is a nice extra, and it’s easy enough to get around by subway. The hotel is fairly close to ShenZhen airport and affordable, though the room condition wasn’t amazing.

My friend still hadn’t arrived when I checked in, so I asked the front desk for an extra key card. They told me to have him ask when he got there. At 11 PM, though, he was told they had no extra card, then they called my room to say they’d knock on the door. I was asleep, so that really disturbed me. The double room’s bathroom drain was clogged. Staff came to look but couldn’t fix it, and there wasn’t another room available to move to.
