The breakfast buffet had soup noodles and congee with toppings, plus fried noodles, toast, eggs, sausages or ham, vegetables, salad, fruit, pastries, cakes, coffee and tea. One guest's breakfast was included; each extra guest cost $40. We also got a convenient 2 pm late checkout, and the beds and pillows were really comfortable. The rooms were clean, spacious and well kept, and the staff were quick to help. Getting around was easy for the places we wanted to see. Kingglory Plaza is a short walk away, with Guomao Station on Metro Line 1. From there, Line 1 goes straight to OCT (Splendid China Folk Village), Window of the World, Shopping Park (Coco Park) and the old Science Museum building. Dongmen Shopping Street was walkable too, just two traffic lights from the hotel, and we went twice because there was so much there. There was a noticeable cigarette smell even in the non-smoking rooms. The nearest 7 Eleven and other convenience stores are outside the hotel, so it takes a bit of walking to get to one. Our taxi from the airport cost $172 and took about 45 minutes. (In Chinese currency)

The rooms were clean, and guests can use the free laundromat. Staff were friendly, and it's a good spot, fairly close to dongmen pedestrian street.

The location is great, but the customer service desk had a bad attitude. The website clearly says the hotel has air conditioning, but there wasn't any. They took a 309 RMB deposit when I checked in and returned only 286 RMB at checkout. When I asked why, they said it was their policy, which honestly looked like a scam to me. I asked reception to cancel the booking, but was told there would be no refund. The cleaner was the only nice person and was very helpful. If you like a cold hotel, this is the one for you.

The room was simple and clean, and the staff went out of their way to arrange it around what I needed. The food was fabulous, especially the chiu chow dishes, which tasted extremely authentic and left a lasting impression. My family was very happy with the experience too. At this price, I can't think of anything else to ask for. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.
