Shenzhen Nanshan L'Hermitage

We stayed one night, Monday to Tuesday in Dec, 2024, in the King Suite with 2 breakfasts included. It cost just over 23,000 Asia Miles points. We were on the 9th floor and had a decent view. The suite had a bathtub and a separate toilet in the living room/study area outside the bedroom. The wall fixtures had Hong Kong plug options, but there were no phone charging wires or USB plugs. There’s free shoe polishing, which I only found out about too late to use. The hotel didn’t seem very busy. We couldn’t hear the neighbors, and outside traffic noise was minimal. The buffet breakfast was OK, with lots of Chinese options like noodles, oyster congee, sweet potato, and corn on the cob. A chef made omelettes. When we left, the hotel called a taxi for us to Futian Checkpoint. It cost around RMB75, including a RMB9 highway toll. Nantao Old City is nearby, an easy 15 min walk from the hotel. American Express was accepted for the deposit. The suite deposit was HK$1000. The living room curtains run on power, so don’t try to pull them by hand. The room card holder says “Free flow of local beer,” but that means you collect one drink coupon at the check-in counter for the lounge, usable between 6 and 8pm. You can get coffee, tea, a soft drink, or Tsing Tao (330ml). A Tsing Tao was listed at RMB35 in the lounge. The room key holder also says “advance reservation is needed” for the shuttle bus. In Chinese, it specifies that you need to reserve one day ahead. At check-in, one woman spoke Cantonese, and the other staff seemed to have some basic English.
