The rooms were spacious, but they were dirty, and the sofa had stains. At breakfast, the noodle-making staff mixed up the orders, said the wrong one was mine, then berated me for not taking it. Hotel staff yelling at a customer like that is something I’ve never experienced. The service was horrible, and I’ll never come back. I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but this level of service was unacceptable.

The city view looked really nice at night, and the location is super convenient. There’s a mall right across from the hotel.

The rooms are spacious, especially the shower area, and the hotel feels fairly modern. Grand Theatre Station is about a 10-minute walk away, with a fancy mall right across the street. Google Maps gave me trouble finding the place, though I eventually got there another way, so keep that in mind. There’s also a language barrier if you don’t speak Mandarin.

The twin room was tidy and had enough amenities, and the complimentary buffet breakfast made the stay worthwhile. We were accepted as walk-ins, and the service was polite, if rather obligatory. Coming in from the nearby station in pouring rain with little spare clothing, a robe would have been useful. There was a smoky smell in the room and on the floor, coming through the air conditioning vent. Good value if you’re on a tight budget and want a nice change from roughing it.

We kept getting yelled at by the front desk guys, who seemed to get mad over everything. There are a million rules here: you can’t stay in the lobby at night to play cards or even sit and talk with friends. Terrible place. Find somewhere else.
