The main drawback for me was the bathroom sink plumbing. I stayed in two rooms, and using the bathrooms in both was quite unpleasant because the pipes hadn’t been installed properly to keep smells out. A metal hose for the sink drain will smell, while a pipe should be fine, so ask which one they use when booking. This could be fixed quickly in Shenzhen, though. The location is great for Shenzhen University. The room itself is quite nice, and a room facing away from the main street is very quiet. In the morning, around 7-8am, you can see and hear what the elementary school is like. The hotel staff don’t speak English, so you’ll communicate through a translation app on their phones, as is usual in China. Good luck!

The shower water was a little cold, and there was an odd smell in the room. That was disappointing, even though the hotel itself was nice and clean.
