The coastal views over Qianhai Bay are unforgettable, and the thoughtful service and first-class dining made my late-November stay at the newly opened St. Regis Shenzhen Bao'an feel special. The interiors are comfortable and flow smoothly, with a charming signature fragrance throughout. I’ve become a fan of this new St. Regis. Highly recommended!
The room was a highlight: comfortable, beautifully decorated, and laid out in a thoughtful way that balanced style with function. The lighting and furnishings made it feel relaxed and luxurious. Service was just as good. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and eager to help from the moment I arrived, and they went out of their way to make things easy. Special thanks to GSM Ms. Wang for her genuine help and to Kevin, the most professional concierge, along with the others whose names I can’t recall.
One of the nicest St Regis stays we’ve had. The design feels elegant and quietly luxurious. They stayed in touch about our allergy needs and offered cleaning or a room switch. There were a few minor rough edges in customer care, but we enjoyed our stay overall.
The location is convenient, about a five-minute walk from Exit B of Bao'an Station on Metro Line 11, with plenty of shopping nearby. The hotel is very new, and the St. Regis Suite was so luxurious that after a long trip I didn’t want to leave it. There’s also an evening ceremony that adds to the stay. Because I had an early flight, the front desk welcomed me warmly and told me I’d been upgraded to a St. Regis Suite. Knowing I had an international flight, they even offered a standard room temporarily, with a move to the suite in the afternoon. I left my luggage and explored the area, planning to check in around 2 pm. A big thumbs up to the St. Regis Shenzhen Baoan front desk for such attentive service. I’d definitely stay here again.
I appreciated the fresh roses for Valentine’s Day, and the two mocktails from the bar on the 35th floor were thoughtfully made and very enjoyable. The shower gel and facial cleanser also had a surprisingly lovely scent. The concierge team helped smoothly with my luggage, as they do at every hotel I stay in, and the check-in staff were warm and welcoming. My butler brought tea and water once, which I appreciated. Still, the room was cold all night during my stay from February 14 to February 15. The central air conditioning stayed around 22.5 to 23 degrees Celsius no matter how I adjusted it. Turning it off only brought the room to about 24 degrees. I shivered under the blanket and caught a severe cold, felt very weak, and struggled to recover even with medication. The chill then triggered acute gastroenteritis. I could barely eat breakfast and had to hurry back to the room feeling very unwell. Room temperature matters for rest and recovery, and I don’t understand why a new hotel keeps the air conditioning centrally set so low. Does nobody else find it cold? There was no evening turndown service, though I hadn’t put up the “Do Not Disturb” sign. What disappointed me most was that the experience didn’t meet the standard I associate with The St. Regis. I’ve been a Marriott Bonvoy member for two years, and all my stays have been personal trips paid out of pocket, not business travel. I enjoy trying different hotels, and this is only the second property that has left me this dissatisfied. I don’t leave negative reviews casually, only when a stay really falls short. As a Titanium member, I was upgraded to a Deluxe Bay View Room, but my Suite Night Award was declined for the following day. I had planned to add another night if the room was comfortable. After seeing the rather compact layout and feeling how cold it was, I decided to cancel that night. The view was simple, as shown in the photo, and the layout plain. The room felt like a typical 39-square-metre one. At a rate of 2,500, I think other hotels offer better value. To me, a hotel’s standard isn’t defined by whether someone gets a suite. Even a standard room should be comfortable and pleasant, and this stay wasn’t. I find it hard to understand all the very positive reviews. Maybe too much praise in the past has led to some complacency. For breakfast, signs saying “Dining” and “Finished” might help. When solo guests leave their table to get food, staff could avoid clearing it by mistake, which might also save the team unnecessary work.
