Holiday Inn Express Shijiazhuang Heping by IHG

The location is great, which makes the poor condition inside even harder to understand. This place feels badly run down, with switches, lights, and other things having some kind of problem, and it seems likely to stay that way until a new investor comes along. People were smoking by the check-in elevator when we arrived. The one star is for eventually getting upgraded to a suite with a livable temperature. Before that, we were put in two awful rooms that were around 30°C at night, almost in winter, and there was nothing we could do from inside the rooms. That's not acceptable. Ugh, this felt more like an entertainment prison than a hotel.

Right in the city center, and the staff were really helpful, especially at the restaurant. They let us bring in vegetarian food from outside and even helped cook it. Thanks to the Holiday Inn team.

The room at the Holiday Inn was really nice, and the hotel connects to Wonder Mall. Everyone on staff was friendly too. The location wasn't ideal, though the attractions are spread far apart, so it's hard to pick a perfect base. I'd say choose somewhere your driver can find easily.

I've stayed here twice for conferences, and it was almost perfect in both the room and the service. They upgraded me as an IHG Platinum member. I'll come back and stay here again.
