The buffet dinner wasn't really to my taste. It was very oily, had lots of bones, and included local dishes such as freshwater fish. Breakfast, though, was good, with fresh fruit and plenty of Chinese choices. I stayed for work and found the rooms fantastic. The staff were polite and helpful, although many didn't speak English, so Google Translate came in handy. It was a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

The photos of the port area were taken around 2003, when the town was called Gang Qu rather than Jin Gang. I stayed at this hotel several times for long stretches between the 80s and 90s. Back then it was an old hotel, not yet rebuilt, and considered the largest in the area. There were no streetlights on the main road. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff were attentive and friendly. Coming back each time felt like coming home, and I still vaguely remember a few of the young staff members. I'm confident the hotel has since reached a much higher standard.
