The gym is well equipped, though the pool water could be better. Room service is all Western food, so some Chinese dishes would be a welcome addition. Breakfast downstairs also needs attention: staff should tell whether someone has stepped away to fetch food or has finished, and the tables and seats need more than just the plates cleared. The tables weren't properly cleaned. There's a recently renovated mall nearby with lots of places to eat, plus a small lake that's nice for a relaxed walk. The hotel is in a newer development, around a 30-minute drive from Suzhou Railway Station, or about 70 RMB. As a Diamond member I got a suite upgrade, with a spacious, well-appointed room. They also provided a fruit platter, lounge afternoon tea, and happy hour, with a pretty good food selection. It's good value, and I'd stay a day or two to get some rest.
