Holiday Inn Express Suzhou City Center by IHG

The neighborhood is lively, and the hotel made for a pleasant stay. We could walk to the river, garden, mall, and market. It’s also near a mosque and Halal food restaurants, which is helpful for Muslim guests. Breakfast was good. Highly recommended.

There’s a bakery next door worth visiting, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is new, the staff were friendly, and it has what you need. But the whole place smelled of cigarette smoke. Guests next door kept their doors open, played cards, gambled, and smoked constantly. Even with signs telling people not to smoke, gamble, or do prostitution, the hotel didn’t seem to enforce the rules unless someone complained. Closing our door couldn’t keep the smoke from seeping into the room. It’s a nice Holiday Inn Express, but I won’t return because they don’t do enough about smoking in the rooms and corridors.

The staff were welcoming, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. Great location, too.

Holiday Inn Express Suzhou City Center is close to Shilu and Shantangjie MRT stations, with Xi Yuan Temple and Shantangjie Ancient Street nearby, along with restaurants and supermarkets. From MRT Shi Lu Station Exit 1, it’s about 470 meters to the hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious, and modern, with the amenities you need. Breakfast is included and has a good range of tasty options. There’s also a fitness center and laundry facilities with a washer and dryer. Prices start at around 1500 yen per night. For a convenient, clean, affordable stay in Suzhou, this hotel is a good choice.
