Holiday Inn Express Suzhou Zhouzhuang Ancient Town by IHG

The breakfast was the one bright spot, with an okay selection and coffee, though about 90% of it was local-style food. Otherwise, this place was filthy, old, and badly run down. The rooms were small and dank, smelled of old clothes and smoke, and had hard beds with hardly any cushioning. My back could easily have been sore. The heat in our room didn't work, so we sprayed air freshener just to tolerate the musty smell. There was no heat in the hallways or front lobby either. Bathroom paint was peeling and the hallways were dirty. Thin walls and slamming doors made for a noisy stay, and the front desk even offered earplugs, since so many guests talked loudly. The layout was poorly organized, the walkways were oddly uneven, and at first we couldn't find our room. The location is okay for an international brand, but this property makes Holiday Inn look bad. It's a poorly managed local property trading on an international name. Not recommended. You've been warned.
