Finding the hotel was the tricky part. Its signage says Mercure Suzhou Pingjiang Wanda Plaza, the Accor App calls it Mercure Suzhou Downtown, and Google Maps lists both Mercure Suzhou Downtown and Suzhou Railway Station Mercure Htl. Apple Maps has yet another name, Suzhou Pingjiang Wanda Plaza Mercure Hotel. All those variations made it really hard to locate. Once there, I had a great stay. The room was spacious and on a high floor with a great view, and the staff were exceptionally helpful, especially the kind lady at the noodle station. Breakfast was tasty and had lots of choices. Having a laundry room on every floor was handy, and the food delivery robot was fun. The location also worked well, with restaurants and the Metro close by.

Getting to the train station was easy since the hotel is near the subway. The rooms were spacious, the interior was clean, and breakfast was pretty good too. There was a slight smoky smell in the hallway, though, and not many places to eat nearby.

It was my first time in China. The hotel is nice and away from the crowds, though it’s surrounded by factories. Getting into town is easy enough if you contact the front desk, and to find your way back, just show the hotel’s business card. The food was acceptable for Indonesians, but watch out for non-halal items.
