Pan Pacific Suzhou

We spent five comfortable, memorable days here and visited Panmen twice, since there was so much beautiful scenery to see. The corridors leading to our large, well-furnished room were lined with antique vases, almost like a museum. From the bell boy to the front desk and concierge team, everyone made us feel welcome and was ready with suggestions for sights and places to eat. After checkout, my husband realized he’d left his new sandals behind. We contacted Mia, the concierge, and she arranged to have them sent to our next stop, Shenzhen. Thanks so much, Mia.

We enjoyed our two nights at Pan Pacific Suzhou and would gladly stay again. The Balcony Suite had lots of room for our luggage and winter jackets, plus a spacious bathroom. It was clean throughout, and the cheerful housekeeping staff were always willing to help tidy up. For laundry, there’s both a hotel service and free self-service machines. We took Didi to the attractions instead of using the metro, and ordered food delivery because we wanted to try local food. We didn't interact much with staff, but check-in was pleasant and they were friendly and professional. They also gave us complimentary coffee vouchers for the cafe. Little touches like complimentary hot tea and the morning tai chi performance added a nice feel to the stay.

I’d recommend this hotel for its unique character, though my experience had a couple of snags. I booked a Premier King through Booking.com because the room pictured looked quite spacious, but the room I received was different and smaller. I also couldn't get the wifi to work inside it, even though it connected in the hallway. I raised both issues with reception. They said the assignment was correct, and about the wifi, “maybe the wifi will work later.” That answer struck me as funny. I asked whether I could pay to move to a larger room and was allowed to view the Suite first. Upgrading was the right call: it was spacious and comfortable, with a coat room, living room, separate bedroom, and a very large bathroom with both a bathtub and shower. Wifi worked there too. The breakfast buffet was okay, but nothing special.

The buffet breakfast was very good, with plenty of hot and cold options and lots of freshly squeezed juice. We stayed in January 2026 and couldn't find fault with the rooms, facilities, service, or food. Rates were very reasonable at that time of year, and it delivered in spades for international business travellers looking for somewhere a bit more at market. Highly recommended.
