The area is safe and quiet, with well-known restaurants and bars nearby. When I lived and worked in Suzhou in 2017, I stayed at Suisse Place in Ligongdi for a few months. My room had a very comfortable bed and a kitchen with supplies. Breakfast had both Chinese and Western dishes.
Suisse Place, called "RUBETING" in Chinese, is a Lake View Hotel in Ligong Di, the party area. You can walk to the restaurant chains there, and the rooms have amazing lake views, with lovely evening sunsets. There's a gym facing Lake Jinji, a generous breakfast, laundry service, and a gaming room. They even lend out a two-seater cycle. A great spot to stay and spend time with the people you love.
The restaurant was really awful, though the Chinese breakfast was okay, and there are several good restaurants nearby. The room was very nice, with a great lake view, excellent beds, fast Wi-Fi, and friendly service.
Stayed for 30 days, awesome place.
The room seems like it should be nice, but the breakfast is a bit lacking.
