The location made getting to nearby water towns easy, and Hongqiao airport was 50 to 55 minutes away. There are restaurants, an ATM, a supermarket and other places around the hotel. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, with lovely details in the walls, lamps and tables, and they stay warm in winter. Breakfast includes local and Western food, such as omelettes, at least three kinds of cheese, baguette, fruit and cakes. The gym is well equipped, including Pilates equipment, and there's a nice pool in the same area. Other options include a spa inspired by a traditional Chinese garden, a Starbucks shop and a souvenir store.

The internet was only fast for me with a VPN or Secure WIFI app. Without one it was slow, and WhatsApp, if it worked at all, was text only, with no photos. The language problem was unbelievable: nobody spoke English, not even at check-in. At checkout I had to spell GERMANY just to get my invoice, and asking about massage service details meant speaking into an iPhone for automatic translation. If the personnel spoke English, I'd give the hotel four or five stars.

The breakfast buffet was very satisfying, and the fitness room was well furnished. Service was very friendly. It's a classy business hotel for the region, with a large, very clean room and a great view, pollution aside.

It's close to the industrial zone, and the drive from Pu Dong airport in Shanghai takes about an hour and 45 minutes. Metered taxis usually ask for the round-trip fare, so expect to pay around 1000 RMB, which is quite expensive. The hotel has a Western cuisine restaurant, there's a decent place to eat across the street, and McDonalds is next door if that's what you want. Probably the best five-star hotel in Fenhu.

Nobody speaks English, so be aware of that. Even so, this is the best hotel I've stayed in anywhere in the world.
