The view at night was lovely, especially from the road by the TJ eyes (ferris wheel), and the staff were warm and welcoming. My mum and I asked about the spa, pool and gym, and everyone was friendly. We also loved the generous room size for three people and the huge breakfast dining area, with plenty of seats. Their service felt better than the hotels we stayed at in BJ and Gubei, including the warm welcome and staff bowing to us. Our room was 1234, a nice number to remember. The air vent didn't seem to work properly, though. We had to call staff to help open the window near the spa area and set up the moving fan. I woke in the middle of the night because it felt oven hot and had to point the fan straight at us. Note to self: even after opening the small hole, don't shut the window all the way after everyone has used the toilet.

The river view from the room was nice, and there was plenty of space inside. The decor felt modern and clean, while the shared areas were spacious and quite luxurious. Downstairs there's a children's play area, a medium-sized gym and a decent pool. Some reception staff can speak English and were generally polite. The breakfast room has impressive displays, but not many dishes are actually available. Staff repeatedly missed or misunderstood our requests, so that omelet I had in mind never happened.

The pool was pleasant, but the changing room was very unsanitary, with a urine smell coming from the toilets. The hotel itself felt old, and the rooms had plenty of wear. It didn't feel like a resort, despite what the booking-site photos suggest. From my experience, newer hotels tend to be more pleasant to stay in.
