Holiday Inn Express Tiajin Dongli

We chose this hotel because we needed somewhere near both the airport and the Tianjin National Convention and Exhibition Centre for a student competition. The airport was about a 15 to 20 minute drive away, and the location worked well for our small group. Across the street, Wanda shopping mall (dongli) had a supermarket, convenience store, cafes including Starbucks and Luckin coffee, and plenty of dinner choices at different prices, from KFC and Burger King to local eateries. The rooms were clean and modern after the hotel's renovation. The reception staff were mostly helpful with advice and our requests. Landy deserves a special mention: she regularly checked how our stay was going and helped us, which made it especially enjoyable. Breakfast offered a good spread of local and some international food. The dishes repeated, but there was enough variety for us to have different breakfasts during our few days there. The coffee machine was a lifesaver.
