InterContinental Tianjin Yujiapu Hotel & Residences by IHG

The indoor pool was big and peaceful, and the well-equipped fitness center was a nice place to unwind after exploring. During my solo trip to Tianjin, I found the hotel’s staff attentive and ready to help throughout my stay. InterContinental Tianjin Yujiapu Hotel & Residences is in the Binhai New Area, a scenic location with convenient access to city attractions. Its modern design felt welcoming, while the lobby had a quietly elegant feel. Check-in was quick, and the courteous staff made me feel welcome right away. My stay brought together comfort, luxury, and attentive service. I’d recommend it for a memorable Tianjin visit, for business or leisure.

There’s room for improvement here. We arrived just before midnight, and there was no bell service, only a security guard who didn’t seem interested in helping with our luggage. At reception, the agent barely looked up while checking me in. I was told, “Thank you for being ambassador with us, we have upgraded you to our lowest guest room floor.” That floor had noisy construction work going on. The next morning, the power went out and the elevator was out of service. Nobody mentioned this at check-in. After I took the stairs back to my room, I found a letter there explaining it. Why hadn’t they told me when I checked in ten hours earlier? The toilet and bathroom are separate, with a wash basin in each, but they provided only one bar of soap.

The breakfast was incredible, and the views were great. This is an awesome hotel in TEDA, with rooms and interiors that feel originally designed. Room service comes by delivery robot, which is fun when you run into one in the elevator. The gym and sky bar are both on the top floor.

The hallway had an unpleasant smell, and I woke up with a stuffy chest. Ventilation needs attention, both in the room and in the hallway. The HVAC system should be improved.
