Sea View Garden Hotel Tianjin

The staff were very helpful, which made a real difference and might bring me back. I spent 3000 yuan for five nights in a king room, including a refundable 500 yuan deposit. One thing for foreign visitors to Tianjin: some hotels only take local guests. My first booking turned me away for that reason and referred me to the Sea View Garden Hotel instead. The hotel is right by a highway, so traffic noise is to be expected. My room faced away from it, though I could see a construction site from the window. Some nights, piling work nearby could be heard as late as 11 pm. There are no convenience shops close by, so I had to pick up supplies when I went to the malls. Malls aren’t within walking distance, but taxis are easy to flag down outside. Breakfast is Chinese style, with porridge and preserved vegetables. I didn’t find it appetising, as I prefer a Western or international buffet. The hotel’s ATM was out of order, but there are banks and ATMs across the road. You have to walk about 80 m and cross using the overhead bridge. The hotel doesn’t accept Visa or MasterCard, so I had to withdraw extra cash to pay for my stay.
