The Westin Tianjin

A quiet room with a proper work desk and dependable high-speed internet made this a good base for getting work done. The facilities were very good, and the staff were efficient and courteous throughout. Check-in and checkout were smooth, too. I was very impressed with The Westin Tianjin.

Even though the hotel is older, the lobby and rooms feel warm and are kept exceptionally clean. The rooms are spacious, with nice touches like a walk-in wardrobe and rain shower. The staff are what really made our stay, though. We landed on a red-eye at 8:30 am, long before check-in, but reception arranged a room so we could leave our luggage and freshen up while we waited for our second room to be ready at noon. That thoughtfulness meant a lot. The concierge team were just as welcoming, happy to chat and share useful tips for seeing Tianjin. There's a genuinely positive feel to the place. 👍

I had a miserable night here yesterday, the worst hotel stay I've had in the Marriot group. The room was unbearably hot, with no air-conditioning or ventilation, and opening the small windows brought in no air. We asked why, and staff said it was normal because the weather outside was cold, so the hotel had turned off the air-conditioning and was only running a centralized fan. They gave us a stand fan, but it was weak and noisy. The lobby toilet was poorly cleaned too, and the hotel itself was dirty. We barely slept all night.

It's a pleasant hotel in a handy spot, with easy access to the commercial area.
