Yihai Pearl Hotel Tianjin

The location on a main road in an industrial area was rough. The pollution made my eyes water and my sinuses feel blocked. The room could have been cleaner, and the bed was rock hard. I planned to stay nine nights, but left after one and moved to the city centre instead. That was a much better choice, and the river at night blew me away. This place also wasn’t a good fit for western travellers. None of the staff spoke English, there were no English TV channels, and they didn’t accept western credit cards, only Chinese ones. The Wi-Fi codes didn’t work either. There was no bar or coffee at breakfast, and I couldn’t find much to eat unless you’re a hardened Chinese food eater.
