Grand Bay View Hotel

We spent three nights in a clean sea-view suite with a small kitchen area, a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. The room was excellent, and we slept well. The front desk gave us a warm welcome and check-in was smooth and professional. The concierge team got our luggage to the room within five minutes. The hotel is away from the busy city, with a free shuttle to Tsuen Wan MTR station. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant food was good. There were also plenty of dining options at the shopping mall near the MTR station. My wife and I would be happy to stay again at Grand Bay view Hotel.

The hotel has fantastic views, but that was one of the few things I liked. The restaurant is super expensive, for your information. My stay was loud and stressful. The fire alarm went off for a few minutes at about 2:30 a.m. on the first night. When I called the front desk, they said it was an accident and not to worry. It went off again around 3 p.m. on the third day, which didn’t give me much confidence in the building management. The room wasn’t comfortable. The bed was two twin mattresses pushed together and felt too springy, and the high, firm pillows left my neck and upper back sore. The bathroom looked old and a bit dirty, and there was a nasty, sewer-like smell in the room. Housekeeping noise in the hall was loud, too. They had “cleaned” without making the bed, then on my second night they pounded on the door around 10:30 a.m. and started opening it while my “Do Not Disturb” sign was clearly hanging outside. I had to tell them directly I didn’t need cleaning. It felt like they completely ignored the sign. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, including on our final day when they securely stored our luggage before we headed back to the airport. We found the waterfront location a great value for Hong Kong, with a lovely outlook over the water. Our room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed, and made a relaxing base for our Hong Kong stopover. We had a wonderful stay at Grand Bay View Hotel and would happily return.

Our large family group of 11 took three rooms at the Grand Bay View Hotel, and the stay went fantastically from start to finish. Simpson and Tommy, the middle-aged man in the light blue jacket, deserve a special mention for helping our logistics run smoothly. The service stayed consistent, with fresh towels and thorough room cleaning every day. The staff clearly did their best to keep us comfortable, and we’d definitely return.
