Right in the middle of Tai Mo Shan, and convenient if you’re driving. There’s a BBQ area, kitchen and restrooms, plus 24-hour hot water. The place is fairly clean. Wi-Fi is very weak, but WhatsApp text messages come through; photos and videos can take over half an hour to load. The restrooms have squat toilets only, though they’re quite clean, and the showers have heated lights. The dormitory supervisor, Mr. Ma, is quite nice and helpful. I booked Camping Plus for 6 people and was disappointed. The campsite they allocated wasn’t big enough for six people to camp in three separate areas. Cars can’t park next to the site, unlike what the YHA website pictures show. Also, the six-person campsite is near the restrooms and kitchen, so it gets quite noisy at night and I couldn’t sleep. For camping on bare ground that isn’t really grass, I’d recommend staying in a campsite.
